About this experience
On day one you climb past the usual turnaround points into quieter parts of Gunung Leuser. Your guides set up a riverside camp and cook a traditional dinner over open fire. Day two takes you deeper still, on ridge trails and along jungle streams where wild orangutans and siamangs are more common than at the forest edge. The final day you break camp early, trek down to the river and ride the Jungle Taxi (rubber tubes) back to the village. Everything you need on the trail (food, mattress, mosquito net, permits) is carried by your porter.
